Program Information
What schools are eligible to participate?
MPILCC is open to students from law schools in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
How do I register?
Schools: Visit the registration page.
Students: Contact your Career Services Office to find out if your school is participating in MPILCC. If so, you will receive an e-mail with your Symplicity login at the start of bidding.
What is the MPILCC Web site address?
MPILCC participation for students and employers is coordinated through:
How much will participation cost?
Schools: There is a $375.00 law school fee, payable at the time registration is submitted. Your fee helps MPILCC cover its costs, which includes Symplicity and Flo Recruit licensing as well as other conference administration expenses.
Students: There is no cost to participate.
Who administers the MPILCC Conference?
Conference management is spread out among a group of Chicago Area Law School Consortium (CALSC) member schools.
To whom should students direct their questions about the Conference?
Students should direct any questions about the Conference to their own law school career service office. We trust that the MPILCC website and the career services professionals at the participating schools will be able to field the vast majority of student questions.
Why must students have a separate Symplicity login and password for MPILCC?
Symplicity treats MPILCC as if it were a law school client. It is the best way their system can be adapted for interviews not directly linked to one law school. Students who already have a Symplicity login via their own law school cannot carry over their password to the MPILCC Symplicity site, but, as a matter of convenience, may change their initial MPILCC password to one of their choosing. Please go to the MPILCC site login page, and not your school’s Symplicity site login page, to bid on interviews for the Conference.
Where can law schools and students find out which employers are attending the Conference?
For a full listing of employers attending the conference, return to the MPILCC website and click on the “Students” tab. Registered students may also see a listing of employers who are interviewing by logging into the MPILCC Symplicity page.

Bidding

Is there any limit on student bidding for employers?
Yes, students may bid up to 20 employers. Remember the bid number is essentially meaningless since interview selections are all pre-screened and made by the employer. In addition to a resume, students may be asked to submit a cover letter, transcript, and writing sample, depending on each employer's requirements. Students should submit these materials during the bidding process.
How will students know if they were selected for an interview?
Students will receive an e-mail when interviews have been released (see the The MPILCC website for dates and deadlines) with instructions on how to confirm interviews and view their schedules in Flo Recruit. Students must confirm their attendance by the deadline or their interviews will be cancelled.
If no employers appear, then the student was not selected for any interviews. Students will be expected to accept their interviews and show up on the day of the Conference, unless they cancel the interviews.
How do students cancel their interview?
There is a time frame for students to cancel an interview. They can cancel online via the cancel button that appears on their Flo Recruit event page.
If there is a cancellation request after the deadline, students must receive approval from their Career Services Office. Career Services should send an e-mail (no calls!) to [email protected]. The e-mail subject line should read “MPILCC cancellation,” and the body of the message should detail which student and which employer is being cancelled.
Except in the case of extreme emergencies, cancellations are not accepted 48 hours prior to the program.
Can schools get a report on which of our students received an interview?
A school administrator will be provided access to data on how students from their school are participating in the program.
